During my first yoga class, about 11 years ago, I felt muscles that I never realized existed. I experienced how flexible some parts of my body were and how stiff some were. It made me feel alive and aware of my body and presence.
Since I practice yoga, I learned a lot about my body and mind. It showed me the importance of awareness; you do your moves slowly and consciously. As long as you feel your body, you can seek out your maximum capacities within your limits. It taught me about balance; if you stretch forward, you also stretch backwards. During practice I’m aware of my body, breath and mind. This is helpful for my ongoing challenge to hold on to that awareness in daily life.
Since 1,5 year I’m joining Ankan’s yoga classes and these really take me to a next level. Guided by his knowledge and humour I learned that I’m capable of so much more than I thought. And it’s excited to know there still a lot more to learn and discover…
